Across The Miles by Paul Mateki is Mule Dog's pick for the best CD of the year. A lot of people agree and this album has been a real award winner since it's release and rightly so. Paul puts out a blend of crystal clear country as fresh and pure as the Zevenbergin mountains that he sings of. Even with the fantastic backgrounds of acoustic guitar, steel, fiddle and the rest of the band, the highlight is Paul's voice. It is very reminiscent of Dan Fogelberg with all of the incredible technique that carries with it. This is indeed a fine album and I recommend it highly.
